To complete the look, use a light golden hue like Endless Pearl by L’Oréal Paris to highlight your brow bone.

If you’re not a fan of the brightest red, you may always use a darker shade to soften and even out a red-eye appearance. Starting in the inner corners of your eyes, apply a matte eyeshadow like L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Acro-Matte. Apply a stronger red eyeshadow to the upper and lower lash lines. Buff off any sharp edges and create a smooth transition between the two hues by going back in there with a blending brush and using the initial deeper shade. Apply the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara in Blackest Black on your lashes for an extra dose of oomph.

Deep Red Crease

Try applying a rich crimson shade to your crease for a quick and easy glam effect. When applying your eyeshadow, begin by drawing the color into your crease and then extending it outward toward the middle of your lids. Sweep on some L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow in Matte Chill in the center and inner corner of your lids. The L’Oréal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Dip Eyeliner, Waterproof in Burgundy, creates a wine red cat-eye wing to finish the look.

Red eyeshadow is necessary, whether you strive for a solid and statement-making look or a natural blush of color.

A Touch of Glam

Minimalists and those who want a hint of color on their eyes will love Soo Joo Park’s red eyeshadow look. Apply a cream eyeshadow to the eyelid and smudge it up to the brow bone with your finger. Afterward, apply a Cimarron-colored powder makeup like Alima Pure Pearluster Eyeshadow on your lid and lower lash line. Finish by applying glitter to the middle of the eyelid and along the inner rim for a more defined appearance.

Graphic Liner

Use your eyeliner in a new way and get out of your comfort zone! A colorful touch on the typical black top-lined lid is provided with a colored liner and a graphic form. Mellinger admits, “I’m a big fan of the graphic design with red liner.” A bare cat eye, just beneath the eye or in the inner corner, exciting forms, and more are all possibilities.

“Try Shiseido’s Kajal InkArtist Shadow Pencil in Azuki Red if you’re looking for a more subtle line. The versatility of this pencil is why I love it. The best technique to apply it is in the inside corner of your eye, in a v-shape using your finger or a Q-tip.”
